Welcome to the official website of the 12th Annual Salt Lake County Watershed Symposium, November 14-15, 2018!  Free and open to all, the Symposium encourages a comprehensive review of the current state of our watershed while creating learning and networking opportunities for a broad array of stakeholders. Sessions cover a broad range of topics on water quality and watershed issues with local, regional, and national relevance. Hosted annually by Salt Lake County Watershed Planning & Restoration.

Dr. Ben Willardson is CWE’s Director of Water Resources. He has been heavily involved in the implementation of stormwater management programs for compliance with NPDES Permit requirements and has guided the development of methodologies to evaluate the effective use of BMPs. His experience includes plan check review, QSP inspections, TMDL development and implementation, hydrologic, hydraulic, sediment transport, and water quality modeling, BMP planning and design, and MS4 Permit compliance assistance. Ben also managed the operation of 14 dams and 27 spreading grounds for flood control and water conservation within the complex flood control system serving Los Angeles County. He has represented the interests of the LACFCD during discussions with the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board and US EPA regarding discharges of water from Superfund sites into the flood control system. Ben was recognized as an “Industry Icon” by Storm Water Solutions magazine in 2015.
