Debolina Banerjee is a doctoral student in the Department of City & Metropolitan Planning at the University of Utah. Being born in Calcutta, India the complex nature of its’ urban morphology intrigued her to pursue graduation and post-graduation in the field of Geography [M.Sc. in Geography, University of Calcutta]. Later she completed a second post-graduate degree [Masters in Planning, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi] in Environmental City Planning, since as a discourse it provided methods to transform geographic knowledge into pragmatic solutions for urban predicaments. Her interests are to create a symbiotic relation between the built environment and the region’s natural resource.

Her research interests include creating a network of resilient cities, mainly in developing nations which are passing through that crucial stage where the scales are heavier towards economic development, but every sign indicates that a balance must be struck with its environmental woes in order for the development to be sustainable rather than regressive. She has past experience [2013-2014] as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Planning, School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada.
